Your Role

As a Lab Technician Application, you will support research and development projects by preparing formulations, conducting laboratory analyses, performing application testing, and helping bring innovative solutions from concept to reality.

Working closely with the Innovation Manager, you’ll generate valuable data and insights that contribute to the development and continuous improvement of our products, processes, and technologies.

Your Responsibilities

• Prepare and adapt liquid and powder-based formulations for testing and development purposes.
• Conduct laboratory analyses, including measurements such as moisture content, density, pH, refractive index, and surface tension.
• Apply formulated products to various substrates, including paper and wood-based materials.
• Perform small-scale fire tests in our dedicated fire laboratory.
• Document, analyse, and report test results accurately to support research projects.
• Contribute to the development and revision of test protocols, SOPs, and safety procedures.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory procedures and safety standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to laboratory processes, equipment, and workplace safety.
• Calibrate, maintain, and take ownership of laboratory equipment to ensure reliable operation.
• Plan and organise laboratory activities efficiently while proactively communicating progress, timelines, and challenges.

Your Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field.
• Experience in an R&D or laboratory environment is an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English. Knowledge of French is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, interpret, and report experimental data.
• Hands-on mentality and technical aptitude.
• Well-organised, flexible, and able to adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic R&D environment.
• Strong team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Curious, solution-oriented, and driven by innovation and continuous improvement.
• Comfortable working with laboratory procedures, documentation, and technical reporting.
