Flame Retardant for a wide variety of end-uses

Ecochem has a range of ATH types which are designed to meet the visual performance desired by the cast polymer industry. The unique surface chemistry provides a white color and translucency in coating applications.

ATH is an inert filler that, due to its good thermal stability, is used in a wide variety of end-uses. It serves as an endothermic, flame retardant and smoke suppressant additive in applications such as textiles, plastics, rubber thermosets, adhesives, sealants, coatings, …. Above 180°C the product decomposes into aluminium oxide and water vapour which reduce the surface temperature and the oxygen level, thus preventing the ignition of combustible substrates. The Aluminium Oxide formed is a very effective smoke suppressant due to its high surface area and pore volume.

It is a halogen-free product which does not contain toxic or hazardous materials. It is environmentally friendly and recyclable.
